riots

ya'll are a demanding group of a-holes. tellin me to post, to post better, to blah blah blah. ya'll must think that i'm so insecure that i'll conform to your every wish just so you'll keep reading my blog. well, you'd be right.

so, folks in hungary are going crazy. too be honest, until last night i thought it was pretty interesting. i've lived in eastern europe for 3 1/2 years, and it's about time that people start acting like eastern europeans. of course, it's always annoying to follow in the footsteps of the french, but some things must be done.

by the time i left the pub last night, public transport in the city had shut down. i was forced to walk back to my apartment, and that's when things got interesting. there was basically a full-blown riot going on. cops everywhere, in full riot gear, blocking off streets and beating people who got too close. my eyes were watering the whole time because so much tear gas had already been shot at folk. as i'm walking a big group of people comes running up behind me about 100 feet from a row of cops. the cops then, shot tear gas at the crowd, which made me cry.

i finally got home, but, damn. budapest is strange. heading to the countryside today to see if i can get away from the madness for a while.

if you were a rioter, what would you do, and why?

le poll le deuxdeux: iEmo

design the outfit you would wear if you were in an emo band. don't be scared.

i'd have a white t-shirt with a picture of my face taking up the whole of the front. i'd be smiling a big, toothy grin and my hair would be done in a rebellious fashion. i'd also have nice plaid pants, and a wallet on a chain.

le poll.

inquiring minds would like to know: what's the single greatest song to air-rock out to?

i'm going to have to go with "don't stop believin'" by journey.

ph of 7.

i've grown weary of this banter on neutrality.

looking at this issue from merely the human perspective is fool's gold at best, life-threatening at worse. i'd also like to mention it's annoying and insulting when comments are made with the sole motive of inciting one to anger and frustration.
so i thought i might just address what neutrality is, and is not.

christian neutrality simply indicates the stance of NON-INVOLVEMENT that christians take in matters of worldly political affairs. getting involved in politics would include things such as: voting, registering with a political party, party-motivated rallies, etc, all of which christians in support of God's kingdom would avoid.

now, its been said that having an opinion on matters that take place in the world of politics invalidate one's neutrality. this is simply not the case. imagine that you're a politician in belgium during the early 1970's during pol pot's reign of terror in cambodia. as a flemish politician you have nothing to do with Cambodia's politics or any of its parties. mentioning that you disagree with, or even hate, the fact that hundreds of thousands of Cambodians are being slaughted still doesn't affiliate you in any way with the Cambodian government or its opposition.
in like manner, when a person who is in full support of God's kingdom and working actively to support its interests look at a dispicable situation in the earth and make mention of their displeasure, this doesn't mean they are now biased toward one party or government. as ambassadors of the Christ (2Cor 5:20) they are free to comment on the worldly political affairs that concern them. again, they would not take steps to further or hinder a certain party's agenda insomuch as their agendas did not conflict with God's laws.

take for instance the response of Jehovah's Witnesses around the world to Hitler's persecution of German witnesses during the 1930's and 40's. letters were written demanding he cease persecuting witnesses for their neutral stance; lawsuits were filed. the awake even published detailed diagrams of concentration camps at the time and detailed what was happening inside of them. were christians somehow less neutral in speaking out against the nazi government? far from it.

likewise today we recognize that we're living in satan's system of things - the governments of the world being under his influence. christians, anyone for that matter concerned with basic decency, cannot help but look at the world today and be disappointed with the results that mankind's course, independent of Jehovah's direction, has produced. making mention of displeasure in Satan's system isn't a sign of no longer being neutral - rather it's a sign of sanity and great concern for the times we live in.
this is for you, gimp.
p.s. i don't care if i misspelled something.

el competition ya'll: DOS.
me in a pretty dress begging for your autograph to the first person to deliver me the name of the politician, king, or chief, who has solved mankind's problems. all of them.

what i got.

tuberculosis. the black lung. doc hollywood's charm. doc hollywood's mistress' sleep-inhibitor.
but please, don't feel bad for me. when i first received the news that i had the tuberculosis i was sad, one could say depressed even. however, things weren't all that bad. after few sleepless nights of coughing up plegm, one of my lungs, and both of my kidneys (dialysis rocks!), i've developed near-perfect abs. one could even say i have a six pack.
who says horrible plagues can't be slightly beneficial? vanity rules, EAT IT CDC!

death, death everywhere.

how did the crocodile hunter wind up getting himself killed?
sadness. and i can't help but feel his advice on dealing with animals is turning out to be not the best.
